THE GRAFTED GOSPEL

Yesha 'yahu (Isaiah) 49:6

Chapter 1.4 - The Birth of Yochanan (John)

Luke 1:57-80 57The time arrived for Elisheva to have her baby, and she gave birth to a son.58Her neighbors and relatives heard how good Adonai had been to her, and they rejoiced with her. 59(a)On the eighth day, they came to do the child’s b’rit-milah.

B’resheet (Gen) 17:9-14

10Here is my covenant, which you are to keep, between me and you, along with your descendants after you: every male among you is to be circumcised.

Yochanan (John) 1:17

17For the Torah was given through Moshe;

grace and truth came through Yeshua the Messiah.

Acts 15 – 16:5

1But some men came down from Y’hudah to Antioch and began teaching the brothers, “You can’t be saved unless you undergo b’rit- milah in the manner prescribed by Moshe.”

59(b)They were about to name him Z’kharyah, after his father, 60when his mother spoke up and said, “No, he is to be called Yochanan.” 61They said to her, “None of your relatives has that name,” 62and they made signs to his father to find out what he wanted him called. 63He motioned for a writing tablet, and to everyone’s surprise he wrote, “His name is Yochanan.” 64At that moment, his power of speech returned, and his first words were a b’rakhah [Blessing] to God.

67His father Z’kharyah was filled with the Ruach HaKodesh and spoke this prophecy:

68“Praised be Adonai, the God of Isra’el,

because he has visited and made a ransom to liberate his

people

69by raising up for us a mighty Deliverer

who is a descendant of his servant David.

New Covenant

Yirmeyahu (Jer) 23:5

5“The days are coming,” says Adonai when I will raise a righteous Branch for David. He will reign as king and succeed, he will do what is just and right in the land.

Yechezk’el (Ezk) 29:21

21‘When that day comes I will cause power [the horn] to return to the house of Isra’el, and I will enable you [Yechezk’el] to open your mouth among them. Then they will know that I am Adonai.”

Revelation 22:16

16“I, Yeshua, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the Messianic communities. I am the Root and Offspring of David, the bright Morning Star.

70It is just as he has spoken through the mouth of the

prophets from the very beginning —

71that we should be delivered from our enemies

and from the power of all who hate us.

72“This has happened so that he might show

the mercy promised to our fathers

that he would remember his holy covenant,

73the oath he swore before Avraham avinu

74to grant us that we, freed from our enemies,

would serve him without fear,

75in holiness and righteousness

before him all our days.

New Covenant

Vayikra (Lev) 26:40-45

40Then they will confess their misdeeds and those of their ancestors which they committed against me in their rebellion; they will admit that they went against me. … 45Rather, for their sakes, I will remember the covenant of their ancestors whom I brought out of the land of Egypt — with the nations watching — so that I might be their God; I am Adonai.’”

Acts 7:51

51“Stiffnecked people, with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You continually oppose the Ruach HaKodesh! You do the same things your fathers did!

Romans 2:25-29

29On the contrary, the real Jew is one inwardly; and true circumcision is of the heart, spiritual not literal; so that his praise comes not from other people but from God.

76You, child, will be called a prophet of Ha‘Elyon;

you will go before the Lord to prepare his way

TaNaKh

New Covenant

Mal’akhi (Mal) 3:1

1“Look! I am sending my messenger

to clear the way before me;

and the Lord, whom you seek,

will suddenly come to his temple.

Yes, the messenger of the covenant,

in whom you take such delight —

look! Here he comes,”

says Adonai-Tzva’ot.

Yesha’yahu (Isa) 40:3

3 A voice cries out:

“Clear a road through the desert for Adonai! Level a highway in the ‘Aravah for our God!

Mattitayahu (Matt) 11:7-10

7As they were leaving, Yeshua began speaking about Yochanan to the crowds: “What did you go out to the desert to see? Reeds swaying in the breeze? 8No? then what did you go out to see? Someone who was well dressed? Well-dressed people live in kings’ palaces. 9Nu, so why did you go out? To see a prophet! Yes! and I tell you he’s much more than a prophet. 10This is the one about whom the Tanakh says,

‘See, I am sending out my

messenger ahead of you;

he will prepare your way

before you.’

77by spreading the knowledge among his people

that deliverance comes by having sins forgiven

TaNaKh

New Covenant

Yirmeyahu (Jer) 31:30-33

30“Here, the days are coming,” says Adonai, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Isra’el and with the house of Y’hudah.

Luke 3:3

3He went all through the Yarden region proclaiming an immersion involving turning to God from sin in order to be forgiven.

78through our God’s most tender mercy,

which causes the Sunrise to visit us from Heaven,

79to shine on those in darkness, living in the shadow of death, and to guide our feet into the paths of peace.”

TaNaKh

New Covenant

Yesha’yahu (Isa) 9:1-6

1The people living in darknesshave seen a great light;upon those living in the land that liesin the shadow of death, light has dawned.

2 Corinthians 4:1-6

6For it is the God who once said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” who has made his light shine in our hearts, the light of the knowledge of God’s glory shining in the face of the Messiah Yeshua.

65All their neighbors were awestruck; and throughout the hill country of Y’hudah, people talked about all these things. 66Everyone who heard of them said to himself, “What is this child going to be?” For clearly the hand of Adonai was with him.

80The child grew and became strong in spirit, and he lived in the wilderness until the time came for him to appear in public to Isra’el.
